[Reckless Beat & SOTD] AURORA – Forgotten Love

RECKLESS BEATS is a musical feature where I incorporate a little music into this bookish blog.

Welcome back to another episode of Reckless Beats~

EHEM

So….

As you can well see from the title, I’m still on an AURORA binge, so here’s some more. Hope you enjoy! XD

Today’s feature song is FORGOTTEN LOVE, both studio and live performance versions. I honestly have to say that BOTH as stunning and I can’t choose which one I enjoy listening to more. The live performance is more subdued than the original studio production, but it still has SUCH musicality and profound depth that I just wail at how GOOD THIS OTHERWORLDLY BEING IS.

UGH.

Listen and see for yourself…

Forgotten Love (Live Performance)

Forgotten Love (studio version)

LYRICS:

Can you tell if I’m cold?
If I’m out of daydreams?
If I lose what is loved
Will a new love awake me?
I am touched by wonder
When I’m blind in the dark

But you drown me in daylight
Don’t swim with me darling
I prefer the sound of you
When you are away

If I am left with a rose in my hand, let it die
It’s the beauty in forgotten love
And I don’t care if you don’t understand why I cry
It’s the beauty in forgotten love

I forget how emotions dance when they aren’t inside of me
I forget how the sun feels when she isn’t around me
And my dreams become sweeter when something is missing
I’m in love with the hunt itself
It makes me feel alive, alive

If I am left with a rose in my hand, let it die
It’s the beauty in forgotten love
And I don’t care if you don’t understand why I cry
It’s the beauty in forgotten love

Reslianna Faresuu
Hongaaah firlessiranna
Faressu hongaaah
Firelessinaniree suranna
Rukireee rukireee
Resilanna faresuu
Hungaaah
Firelessina firelessina firelessina

I release my body and there is no ghost of you inside my mind
I am moving on and thank God you let me try
You are the reason I can dance
Within a fire of goodbyes, of goodbyes
I can lie in a dark room without the feeling that I’m lonely
Oh, (it’s the beauty in forgotten love)

If I am left with a rose in my hand, let it die
It’s the beauty in forgotten love
And I don’t care if you don’t understand why I cry
It’s the beauty in forgotten love
Oh, oh, oh, oh, ah (it’s the beauty in forgotten love)
Oh, oh, oh, oh, ah (it’s the beauty in forgotten love)

[Reckless Beat & SOTD] AURORA – Apple Tree & The Seed

RECKLESS BEATS is a musical feature where I incorporate a little music into this bookish blog.

Welcome back to another episode of Reckless Beats~ Been awhile, huh? oTL Sorry ’bout that…

Anyway, I’m featuring the wonderful and eccentric AURORA today! She’s… literally, like if Björk and Luna Lovegood had a child together. xD I’m not kidding. Just watch this interview with NME if you don’t believe me:

The two songs I’ve been ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH since hearing them a few weeks ago is Apple Tree and The Seed, two very different, but deeply connected pieces, artistically woven to tell a story… OUR story… the human story.

I hope as you listen to these songs, they fill you with wonder and maybe cause you to look at the world just a little differently the next time you bother to actually stop, pause, and SEE.

First up is: Apple Tree

Second up: The Seed

LYRICS FOR APPLE TREE:

All of my life I’ve been hunting
I’ve been a girl, I’ve been a boy
Digging my feet into the ground, like an apple tree
Wanting to live with a purpose
Skin is a word, love is not a sin
People are bad, people are good
Just like the moon is a stone
But it’s a star when it’s dark and now she’s hiding
If you’ve seen where the heart is, you’ve seen it’s color
If I ever knew how we could guide it
I would take care of its children, become their mother
If I ever knew how we could hide it, hide it
(Ah ah)
Let her save the world, she is just a girl
Let him save the world, he is just a boy
Let her save the world, she is just a girl
Let him save the world, he is just a boy
Hunger is quiet if you do it right
Hunter is loud and predictable, scaring away every prey
So they’re gone before the hunter arrives
Would you be kind to put away the sword
You cannot cut away what we’ve got
You cannot kill what we are
We are not here in physical form
You’ve seen where the knife is, its dark location
If I ever knew how we could guide it
I will cut into our anger, make your emotion
If I ever knew how we could hide it, hide it
(Ah ah)
Let her save the world, she is just a girl
Let him save the world, he is just a boy
Let her save the world, she is just a girl
Let him save the world, he is just a boy
Ah, ah
Oh, oh
Ah, ah
Can we carry the weight of mortality? (Oh, oh)
The explosions around you is your symphony
Let her save the world, she is just a girl
(Oh, oh) Let him save the world, he is just a boy
(Ah, ah) Let her save the world, she is just a girl
(Oh, oh) Let him save the world, he is just a boy

LYRICS FOR THE SEED:

Just like the seed
I don’t know where to go
Through dirt and shadow, I grow
I’m reaching light through the struggle
Just like the seed
I’m chasing the wonder
I unravel myself
All in slow motion
You cannot eat money, oh no
You cannot eat money, oh no
When the last tree has fallen
And the rivers are poisoned
You cannot eat money, oh no
You cannot eat money, oh no
You cannot eat money, oh no
When the last tree has fallen
And the rivers are poisoned
You cannot eat money, oh no
Oh no
Suffocate me
So my tears can be rain
I will water the ground where I stand
So the flowers can grow back again
‘Cause just like the seed
Everything wants to live
We are burning our fingers
But we learn and forgive
You cannot eat money, oh no
You cannot eat money, oh no
When the last tree has fallen
And the rivers are poisoned
You cannot eat money, oh no
You cannot eat money, oh no
You cannot eat money, oh no
When the last tree has fallen
And the rivers are poisoned
You cannot eat money, oh no
Oh no
Feed me sunlight, feed me air
In a place where nothing matters
Feed me truth and feed me prayer (dancing around a shooting star)
And every cell remembers
Feed me sunlight, feed me air (that have taken us this far)
I see images of killer whales
Feed me truth and feed me prayers (sleeping in a desert trail)
Dreaming of a parallel world where nothing ever hurts
Dreaming of a parallel world where nothing ever hurts
You cannot eat money, oh no
You cannot eat money, oh no
When the last tree has fallen
And the rivers are poisoned
You cannot eat money, oh no
You cannot eat money, oh no
You cannot eat money, oh no
When the last tree has fallen
And the rivers are poisoned
You cannot eat money, oh no
Oh no

[Reckless Beat & SOTD] Coldplay’s The Scientist

RECKLESS BEATS is a musical feature where I incorporate a little music into this bookish blog.

Welcome back to another episode of Reckless Beats!

Today we have a Coldplay song… The Scientist! A song close and dear to me for… so many ridiculous reasons, it’s almost too upsetting to say.

LYRICS:

Come up to meet you
Tell you I’m sorry
You don’t know how lovely you are
I had to find you
Tell you I need you
Tell you I set you apart
Tell me your secrets
And ask me your questions
Oh let’s go back to the start
Running in circles, coming up tails
Heads on a science apart
Nobody said it was easy
It’s such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard
Oh take me back to the start
I was just guessing at numbers and figures
Pulling your puzzles apart
Questions of science, science and progress
Do not speak as loud as my heart
Tell me you love me
Come back and haunt me
Oh and I rush to the start
Running in circles, chasing our tails
Coming back as we are
Nobody said it was easy
Oh it’s such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be so hard
I’m going back to the start

[Reckless Beat & SOTD] Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell – Ain’t No Mountain High Enough

RECKLESS BEATS is a musical feature where I incorporate a little music into this bookish blog.

Welcome back to another episode of Reckless Beats~

I’m sure any Guardians of the Galaxy fans will find this track QUITE familiar (NOTE: spoiler under link!!)

Recently I’ve been listening to some favourite oldies (80’s-70’s) tracks and this one has been in my head on repeat since last week. Figured I might as well let you all enjoy the earworm as much as I am XD

LYRICS:

Listen baby, ain’t no mountain high
Ain’t no valley low, ain’t no river wide enough baby
If you need me call me no matter where you are
No matter how far don’t worry baby
Just call my name I’ll be there in a hurry
You don’t have to worry
‘Cause baby there ain’t no mountain high enough
Ain’t no valley low enough
Ain’t no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you babe
Remember the day I set you free
I told you you could always count on me darling
From that day on, I made a vow
I’ll be there when you want me
Some way, some how
‘Cause baby there ain’t no mountain high enough
Ain’t no valley low enough
Ain’t no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you babe
Oh no darling
No wind, no rain
Or winters cold can stop me baby, na na baby
‘Cause you are my goal
If you’re ever in trouble
I’ll be there on the double
Just send for me, oh baby, ha
My love is alive
Way down in my heart
Although we are miles apart
If you ever need a helping hand
I’ll be there on the double
Just as fast as I can
Don’t you know that there
Ain’t no mountain high enough
Ain’t no valley low enough
Ain’t no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you babe
Don’tcha know that there
Ain’t no mountain high enough
Ain’t no valley low enough
Ain’t no river wide enough
Ain’t mountain high enough
Ain’t no valley low enough

I honestly cannot be more excited. Autumn and Winter are my FAVOURITE SEASONS and they’re finally just around the corner! In fact… one begins today with the Autumnal Equinox! ♥

And since the First Day of Autumn falls on a Monday this year…

AND Monday is one of our days when Reckless Beats are scheduled here on Reckless Indulgence…

We’re going to go a bit classic and classical with some of my favourite seasonal tunes~ 😀 Not all of them are LITERAL autumn or September related songs. Some will just simply be songs that give me a feel of the season or when I hear them, makes me think of Fall.

Hope you enjoy!!

[Reckless Beat & SOTD] Low Roar’s Half Asleep

RECKLESS BEATS is a musical feature where I incorporate a little music into this bookish blog.

Welcome to another weekly episode of Reckless Beats~

Today’s beat comes from an artist I feel does not get enough publicity, especially considering their immense talent when it comes to producing such hypnotic sounds.

But don’t take my word for it. Check out one of my favourite songs by them, “Half Asleep”:

Also, for any The Magicians fans out there who are also Queliot supporters (Quentin x Elliot) will probably shed a fucking tear like I almost did from this GOR-GEO-US fanvid using the same song as above:

LYRICS:

I woke
Half asleep
Pitch dark
Pitch dark

Rise up
And stay a while
And pay it off
Pay it off

Make up
I’m helping my heart
Trying
I’m trying

The morning fault
Hit my will to leave
The more we talk
The less I will
It near
Here

LYRICS:

Immunity
Long overdue
Contagion
I exhale you
Naive
I opened up to you
Venom in mania

Now, contagion
I exhale you

The deceiver says, he says
You belong to me
You don’t wanna breathe the light of the others
Fear the light
Fear the breath
Fear the others for eternity
But I hear them now inhale the clarity
Hear the venom, the venom in
What you say inoculated

Bless this immunity
Bless this immunity
Bless this immunity

Exhale, expel
Recast my tale
Read my allegorical elegy

Enumerate
All that I’m to do
Calculating steps away from you
My own
Mitosis
Growing through
Delusion from mania

Exhale, expel
Recast my tale
Weave my allegorical elegy

Forfeit
All control
You poison
You spectacle

Exorcise the spectacle
Exorcise the malady
Exorcise the disparate
Poison for eternity
Purge me and evacuate
The venom and the fear that binds me

Unveil now
Lift away
I see you
Running

Deceiver
Chased away
A long time
Coming

[Reckless Beat & SOTD] Kana-Boon – Silhouette (シルエット)

RECKLESS BEATS is a musical feature where I incorporate a little music into this bookish blog.

Welcome back to another episode of Reckless Beats~!

Today we have Kana-Boon‘s Silhouette, a fun, upbeat tune with catchy lyrics and great bop-ability to kick off the work week right!

If you’re a fan of Naruto (I’m actually not — I know, I know… that’s practically a sin, right? Yeah, well, I just never got into it, anime fans, sorry) then you’re probably familiar with this band. Or maybe you’ve heard of them from other anime like Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, Karakuri Circus, or Sarazanmai?

Either way, they’re certainly an established figure in the anime scene. Founded in 2008, they have five studio albums, over a dozen singles, and two “Best” albums released to date. It’s no wonder why with such an infectious sound, adorable vocals (my personal opinion xD), and great pop-rock vibe.

Here’s Silhouette!
