What did you think of the book?
I don’t know why it took me so long to write up the review for this book. I finished reading it ages ago! @__@ First off, PURE SCI-FI genius! I love Hamilton’s writing style, and the ease of storytelling as we traveled with the characters through the stars.
To those familiar or unfamiliar with his work and his series, I would highly recommend starting with the Commonwealth and the Void series BEFORE reading this book. However, if you plan to only read this book and no other, than this works great as a standalone. (The real problem lies with those who want to read those books, but read this one first. A *LOT* of things are revealed here so… yeah. Might be best to either decide “to read or not to read until you’ve finished those books first”.)
One last thing: for those who just want to jump into this series – be aware that it is LONG. Over 600 pages long! (Closer to 700 if you’re reading it on Kindle.)
Would you recommend this book?
If you’re interested in hardcore sci-fi, books set IN SPACE, pretty awesome world-building, and aliens, this is a series that’s definitely meant for you!
