At the age of ten, Darren promised he would love his friend Adam forever and that they would someday marry, and sealed the promise with a kiss. One month later, his friend was gone, and their promise lost to the passage of time.
Years later, Darren can’t forget that long ago promise, and at the urging of a friend, decides to take a chance and track down the boy he once loved…
What did you think of the book?
It was cute. A “Disney-fairytale-ending” sort of cute. Short and to the point. Predictable, but that’s not all that bad a thing, in this case. I liked it, but that’s about it. It lived up to the base “expectations” I must have had for it, I guess, but it’s rated just average for me because when I done I was just like, “…okay? Is that is?”
Oh well. At least it wasn’t a complete waste of time.
*Note: I read this book for The Eclectic Reader challenge.*
Would you recommend this book?
Ehhh, I dunno. Maybe. I’d recommend it if – and I greatly stress IF – someone was solely looking for a cutesy, feel-good short story to brighten their day a little. Then I’d suggest it as a quick read.
